Janine is a qualified Integrative Counsellor having completed a degree in Counselling and Theology and a Diploma in Child Counselling from the Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education. Janine is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Her approach is person-centred, and she works in a creative way; incorporating the arts into her work to enable people to externalize internal issues. Janine also draws on CBT techniques.
Janine has experience of supporting people with the following concerns: Attachment and family issues, anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, spiritual issues, anger management and low self-esteem. She also has some experience of working with people who are struggling with debt.
She is passionate about working with parents and has trained as a Circle of Security Parenting facilitator. She has also counselled children and young people in school settings and in a charity. She seeks to build a trusting relationship where people feel safe and valued. She is emphatic and understanding and aims to walk alongside people in their counselling journey. She is originally from Zimbabwe but has lived in the UK for a number of years.
