As a qualified therapist, I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Systemic Counselling from The Family Institute (University of South Wales).
I am a systemically trained counsellor,’ Systemic' therapy really means 'relational' as it emphasises the fact that people live in a world with others, not just inside their heads or bodies. I work with relationships, looking at patterns, communication, and desired changes.
My main approach is person-centred therapy, although I will often use other therapeutic approaches and techniques that I believe will work well with my client.
My professional training and first-hand experience allow me to offer a non-judgemental and safe environment, sensitive and intuitive insight, and the therapeutic skills that will help you move forward in your life. I understand that some of the issue's clients bring to therapy may be deeply private, difficult to talk about, embarrassing, or painful. I have worked with people with many difficult issues and aim to provide a safe space for you to talk about your concerns.
I am frequently undertaking additional training related to mental health and therapeutic approaches to continuously improve my work with clients. I am a dedicated Counsellor who believes wholeheartedly in the counselling process and that any person has the ability and resources within them to create the life they want.
My experience and training has enabled me to work with clients who struggle with family conflict, bereavement, anxiety, depression, stress, self esteem, confidence, identity issues, Relationship breakdowns, Postnatal Depression and illness.
I chose to be a counsellor because I know what it is to need help beyond the resources of friends and family. I am here to help and support you.
